Dear WEBBA Community,

In what continue to be extraordinary times for our local and global communities, we very much hope that this update finds each of you safe and well. 


The WEBBA Committee continues to hold regular online meetings as we plan for the 20/21 season ahead, balancing our enthusiastic commitment to basketball with the need to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our members and their families whilst adhering the continuing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.

Following the example of Basketball England and the regulations set out in the Prime Minister's recent statements in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the WEBBA Committee confirms that we are formally drawing the the 2019/2020 to a premature close.

Final League positions will be deemed to stand as they were recorded by WEBBA on 17/03/20. The results of any and all protest being considered at this time are to b


Basketball England cancel basketball activity for 2019/20 season

Basketball England has taken the decision to cancel affiliated basketball activity for the remainder of the 2019/20 season because of the coronavirus pandemic.


This action has been taken in consultation with the BBL, WBBL, Basketball Scotland and Ba

  • Rockets' Sterling Brown recovering from assault
    In a statement, the Rockets said Sterling Brown "had no prior knowledge of or interaction with the assailants." Brown suffered facial lacerations but is expected to make a full recovery.
  • Vanessa Bryant, Kobe estate end run with Nike
    Vanessa Bryant and the Kobe Bryant estate have elected not to renew their partnership with Nike. "My hope will always be to allow Kobe's fans to get and wear his products. I will continue to fight for that," she told ESPN.
  • Hornets: Ball's wrist healed, OK to resume activity
    While the Hornets did not say when Ball will be able to return to game action, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that there's optimism he could be ready to return to the lineup in 7-10 days.
